The Experimental Music Yearbook is a repository for composers, performers, and the public to glean the methods and styles of various artists working in the experimental music tradition.

Each year, EMY curates and edits online media and materials, including scores and recordings, and live performance events in several cities, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Events and online features present scores and works by international experimental composers, musicians and sound artists. The EMY events, combined with online supplement media, allow the public to experience each selection as it was intended to be experienced, and serve as the foundation for the curatorial scope of issue of the Yearbook. The editors believe that this type of art practice exists in the moment of its execution, so a public presentation of the journal’s contents is crucial. EMY is edited/curated by Casey Anderson, Scott Cazan, John P. Hastings, and guest editor for 2014, Olivia Block. Block, Anderson, Cazan and Hastings will be present for the Chicago event.
