Elliot Cole
Elliot Cole
In HANUMAN'S LEAP, Elliot Cole explores the ancient Ur-art of epic song through a modern lens. Backed up by a trio of live percussionists and an invisible choir of Cole-clones humming, rapping, throat-singing and beatboxing, he sings a story from the Ramayana in hyper-kinetic technicolor, evoking avant-garde textures, hip-hop grooves and reggae flow while remaining resolutely, extravagantly, recklessly original.

Elliot Cole - vocals
Owen Davis - percussion
Ryan Packard - percussion
Nils Higdon - percussion

Kong Must Dead
Kong Must Dead
Kong Must Dead began as the songwriter alter ego of composer Ben Hjertmann in 2008. He released a hip-hop EP in 2010 and an Indie Pop EP in 2011 under this name. These recordings have been lost. With a backline assembled from Chicago and the Bang on a Can Summer Institute at MASS MoCA, the band makes its debut performance. Kong Must Dead will be performing a live album called Psychopomp, CA, surrealist pop with hints of nostalgia, performance art, and electronics.

Ben Hjertmann - voice, electronics
Brendan Randall-Myers - guitar
Ben Willis - bass
Stuart Seale - piano, rhodes
Owen Davis - drums
Chris Fisher-Lochhead - viola
Min Park - violin
Andy Junk - theremin, ukelele, banjo
Alex Temple - vocoder
